The annual report of 2013 shows more than 600 arrests of Al Ahwaz citizens and the Al Ahwaz Organization for Human Rights has published the names of 435 prisoners

The Al Ahwaz Organization for Human Rights has just published the annual reports of the series of arrests taken place by Iranian authorities against the Al Ahwaz citizens in 2013. During the period more than 600 Arab citizens were arrested and the Al Ahwaz Organization for Human Rights through reliable sources were able to publish the names of 435 prisoners.

The Al Ahwaz Organization for Human Rights is the first organization approved by the German authorities; the federal government of Germany is trying to deliver the voice of Arab Al Ahwaz to the International organizations in order to pressure the Iranian government in stopping the arbitrary arrests and the continuing executions of the Al Ahwaz citizens.

The new series of arbitrary arrests of the Al Ahwaz citizens started in the early January 2013 and it continued till December 2013 which resulted in the arrest of hundreds of Al Ahwaz citizens including dozens of tribe leaders, women, and minors without any legal warrants or charges against the citizens.

The cities of Al Ahwaz province witnessed the arrest of hundreds of its citizens in early April just prior to the anniversary of the April 2005 uprising which resulted in the arrest and execution of many Arab citizens. The demonstrations were to voice their protest to repression and executions of Arab citizens by the Iranian authorities.

The city of Al Ahwaz during the past six months have witnessed many protests and demonstrations by thousands of its citizens to the actions of the government to transfer the water stream of the province to the city of Isfahan, the action taken by the government is despite the widening desertification phenomenon facing the Al Ahwaz province with its drinking water.

The Al Ahwaz citizens are still continuing with their protests despite the midnight raids against their homes and families which resulted in the arrests of many demonstrators and their transfer to unknown locations by the Iranian Intelligence Service officials.

The last days of the year witnessed the serious protests by the citizens of Falahieh denouncing the executions of its citizens for the false accusations of fight against god and its prophet Mohammad and also the conspiracy against the Iranian regime.

The documents leaked outside of the prison by the four Al Ahwaz prisoners just before their execution confirmed their total rejection to the false accusations and the fabricated charges made by the Iranian government.

The letter confirmed that the trial of the four prisoners had taken place inside the prison in less than 2 hours and without any permission to legally be defended by the legal counsel.

The lack of ideological freedom (religious) and the arrests of hundreds of Al Ahwaz Sunni religious citizens

The cities of Al Ahwaz province witnessed the widespread arrests of dozens of its Sunni religious citizens for the accusations of promoting the Sunni religious in Al Ahwaz province. The start of the arrests was after the visit of ex-president Ahmadinejad to Al Ahwaz province in 2010, and the Iranian news agencies have confirmed the news of rising interest between thousands of Al Ahwaz citizens toward the Sunni sector.

There are currently no legal criminal laws against the Sunni religious sector in Iran, but the Iranian government has always attempted to arrest dozens of Al Ahwaz Sunni citizens with the false accusations of Wahhabis’ in which is in total contradiction to the international humanitarian laws.

The Al Ahwaz Human Rights Organizations, as the first independent humanitarian organization for the Al Ahwaz province, strives to officially document such crimes committed by the Iranian regime against the Al Ahwaz citizens in various cities of the province.
