The Ahwazi prisoner Sajjad Abayat was shot dead by IRGC in Sheiban prison

Ahwazi prisoner, Sajjad Abayat Bin Matroud, was shot dead by Iranian security forces during the protests that took place at Sheiban prison (Ahwaz Central Prison) two weeks ago.

Sajjad, who was arrested a year ago for non-political reasons, was seriously wounded in the head and chest during the protests that took place at the Sheiban prison at the end of March, in which the prisoners demanded the Iranian authorities to release them or protect them as fear of the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic inside the prison increased.
Iranian security forces interfered with weapons, tear gas and they opened fire directly on the prisoners, which led to dozens of deaths and injuries.

After complete control of the prison and the transfer of dozens of political prisoners to the solitary cells of Iranian intelligence, a number of the injured were transported secretly to hospitals by the Iranian security and intelligence forces.
During this heinous crime committed by the Iranian security and intelligence forces against the defenseless prisoners; the Ahwazi prisoner, Sajjad bin Matroud Abayat lost his life without any compensation to his family by the Iranian authorities.

In addition, eyewitnesses from the prison reported that the Iranian intelligence had burned the prison on the prisoners and shot them with live bullets and tear gas in order to take control of the prison. The Iranian intelligence forces also shot dead some of the prisoners' family members who were gathering outside the prison in an attempt to expel them from the prison, in fear of documenting their crimes.

Amnesty International, in a statement on its official website (https://2u.pw/s1Yrr), on the morning of 09.04.2020, condemned the brutal treatment taken by Iranian security forces inside the prison against the protesters.
